West Runton Patrol

west runton pond

The toad spawning pond is marked by a toad on the map below.  The toads approach along Station Road from the north (crossing the railway bridge), Station Close from the east (this is a road to a touring caravan site), Sandy Lane from the south and Home Close to the west.  The busiest road is Sandy Lane/Station Road.  Toads also cross the common to the south of Home Close (running roughly parallel to Sandy Lane) and we pick up a lot there before they try to cross the road.  I’m afraid that any that cross the railway line are on their own!

So far this year we have 13 people signed up for toad patrol, please see the Contacts page if you would like to help.
