Little Melton Patrol
We help toads to reach the pond near the junction of School Lane and
Green Lane. There are folding toad signs that we open on nights
when the toads are moving.
We patrol for about 300m along the roads near to the
pond and up the gravel track that leads off School Lane to White Lodge .
We aim to have two people out on each patrol and to have people on call
to help on really busy nights. We have a
rota system so that
people are only out for about 1 hour at a time. New
patrollers are given personal instruction by an experienced toader.
We can loan reflective waistcoats.
Traffic levels have increased a lot since the Village Inn has become
more popular with people in Norwich and there is a lot of traffic at
dusk when the toads are moving.
