Great Melton Patrol
The toads come from all direction to the pond near the bus stop. We operate a rota system and aim to have 2 patrollers out for a shift of no longer than 2 hours. The farmer has cut slots through the bank on Hethersett Rd but the toads had not got the hang of taking a short cut in 2011 - maybe they will in 2012. We have fixed signs that can be erected on the the three roads leading to the pond once the migration starts. Unfortunately the sockets for these signs are currently damaged and we are hoping that Great Melton PC will ask NCC Highways to get them mended.
We operate a rota system of 2 shifts per evening.
